For many players, Capcom wasn’t just a game company. Oh no it was the sound of arcade buttons, the glow of CRT screens, and the first time a boss felt impossible but fair. Its games didn’t just entertain; they stuck with us.
At least for me the 80’s and 90’s were dominated by their fun and high quality games.

Founded in 1979 in Japan, Capcom helped define generations of childhoods with classics like Mega Man and later changed gaming forever with Street Fighter II, which turned arcades into social and fun battlegrounds. In the 1990s, Resident Evil introduced a new kind of fear, while Devil May Cry and Monster Hunter carried on that legacy into stylish action and unforgettable co-op experiences.
Decades after their debut Capcom’s worlds still feel familiar, mostly because they helped shape how many of us learned to play.
They formed the game industry with tight controls, high paced action, memorable, fun and sometimes near impossible bosses. And with that they left and still leave us a lifetime lasting impression.
“Some games fade with time. The great ones feel like coming home.”
